In ChatGPT they trust: a study of students' perceptions and misuse of ChatGPT in higher education

Qualitative descriptive study of 20 university students in Hong Kong on ChatGPT misuse: misusers showed pronounced automation bias and perceived AI agency, with paradoxical reliance despite awareness of hallucination risks.
