Lyndsey Hipgrave, Jessie Goldie, Simon Dennis, Amanda Coleman
Interviews with 23 mental-health clinicians, including a chatbot capability demonstration. Identifies benefits (accessibility, multilingual support, 24/7 availability) and risks (lack of regulation, client over-reliance, inability to detect subtle communication cues). No significant evidence that participants viewed either risks or benefits as outweighing the other.
